The AISLEEP study is being done to better understand the contribution of sleep disturbances to musculoskeletal pain in breast cancer survivors on aromatase inhibitors (AIs). The purpose of this research study is to characterize sleep quality (e.g., duration, efficiency) and musculoskeletal pain uniquely identified in breast cancer survivors on AIs. Another purpose is to identify whether or not women with high levels of pain symptoms differ from women with low/no pain in genes that control the circadian clock and in their sleep patterns.

Participation in this study involves a one-time visit to The University of Connecticut Storrs or Farmington (UConn Health) campus. Participants will be asked to discuss their past health/medical history. Participants will then be asked to complete surveys about pain, sleep disturbances, health-promoting lifestyle behaviors, perceived stress, and social determinants of health. Participants will then be asked to collect a saliva sample. This sample will be used to profile genotype and gene expression of circadian clock genes.

We anticipate this visit to last approximately 1 hour. To compensate for your time, you will receive a $75 gift card upon completion of the study.
